Plus the map may not be 100% correct about the items, but in certain areas they say there’s a higher chance of certain items. It’s good to use their wiki page and look at the map so you don’t go too far into more dangerous territories. You just have to go exploring and loot stuff further into the towns. Guns are of course useful, but I can be just as deadly with a pen knife or a hunting knife. You can kill strong monsters without guns.

The key is surviving and running away, not going out into the city full of zombies, intending to kill all of them with a pistol. In my opinion it was easy enough before, as you really only need a knife. Everyone starts with a basic knife, pistol, around 200 bullets, and some classes start with a machinegun, shotgun, rifle, etc. The earlier comments about starting with 25 bullets or some such are irrelevant now, as it’s much easier for new players. There are many demos on YouTube if you want to see different gameplay, or the current 2D Flash (which, will be abandoned completely when all the bugs with 3D are hammered out). The video doesn’t actually show much other than the gameplay of a high level member of the community, leaving out barricading, the outposts, multiplayer, helping out other players, etc. At the moment, you can only play the demo if you pay $8 a month. In around a couple months, the full release will be available to all members, paying or not. Dead Frontier is going from Flash based, to Unity 3D soon.
